Big Big Update

Now featuring update previews!
Now featuring update previews!

Here’s one of the larger updates that was in the works. When you click the title of the update in the results, a preview box will show up underneath it that lets you take a peek without ever having to leave our site.

This cuts loading times tremendously since you don’t have to completely load a new website. If you like what you see and want to see the full, original post, click the OPEN button. If you don’t like it, click HIDE PREVIEW.

Give it a try by clicking the green show results button up top.

Visit the instructions page for more details on other new features we’ve added, such as the filter buttons! If something isn’t working right for you, use the latest version of Firefox, Safari and Opera.

No more “Favorites” category

Last post in the Favorites category.
This will be the last post to go into the “Favorites” category so if you’re subscribed to that category’s RSS feed, cancel out and update it to our main feed. We decided it’d be better to just update on things we’re really excited about instead of racing to copy and paste everything. Everything posted now would technically be our “favorite.”

Big big update in the works

Under Construction

We’ve been getting some e-mails about the blogging freeze and to keep everyone in the loop, we’re in the process of restructuring things. The feed directory still works so in the mean time, use that. It’ll even work on your iPhone.

Two New Interviews

BMX Party Time!

We have two new interviews up and these are tentatively the first of many. The first one is with BMXUnion’s Kurt Hohberger, which we found very fitting since his site is one of the inspirations for our interview section. The second is with The Big Big BMX Show’s Glenn PP Milligan. It’s a little behind the scenes look of his new show and we were surprised to learn it’s all filmed in his apartment.

2.) The Big Big BMX Show: Getting Bigger and Better

Check All (234 websites!)

ACTIVE FEEDS IN THE DIRECTORY

Since The Come Up’s been down for the past few days (they have a new layout/website in the works), we figured this link might help everyone’s BMX fix until it pops back up.

When clicked, it’ll open BMXPartyTime.com with all active feeds in the directory checked. Right now, there’s 234 in there so that should keep some of you kids clicking for a while. The yellow, highlighted ones means it was posted within the last 24 hours.

As always, this site is best viewed with JavaScript enabled and using the LATEST versions of Firefox, Safari and Opera. It works in IE but you may encounter some bugs.

Let us know if it doesn’t work for you.

Highlighter update

YELLOW -> Updates within the last 24 hours
HEATHER GREY -> Updates within the last 48 hours
LIGHT GREY -> Updates within the last 72 hours

It looks like we may have prematurely jizzed out the first highlighter update.

When Michelangelo got back from surfing, I showed him the new feature for the site and he suggested to indicate the two day old updates as well. Then Leonardo chimed in and suggested indicating the 3 day old updates on top of that.

Raphael might have suggested indicating 4 day old updates but he’s not available at the moment. We think he’s out trying to get in April’s pants. Splinter’s going to be disappointed…

BMX Party Time Highlighter

Highlight = Updated within the last 24 hours

I don’t know why we didn’t bust out the highlighter sooner. It makes sifting through the news much easier. The image above basically explains it all. If you want to test it out, here are some links:

Keep in mind that this site works best using the latest versions of Firefox, Safari and Opera with JavaScript turned on. It works in IE 7.0 but you may notice some bugs here and there. Read the instructions to utilize all of this site’s features.

Also, the directory is constantly getting updated so some feeds may be omitted from what’s actually in there right now. If you have a website that you want included in the directory, send it to links@bmxpartytime.com. Having a feed for it isn’t necessary to get added in the directory but it is helpful.

UPDATE: Heather grey indicates updates that are 2 days old and light grey indicates updates that are 3 days old.

BMX Party Time Favorites

BMXPartyTime.com
We had our crew pick out their favorites and we created a new category, creatively titled, ‘Favorites‘ to house it all. It was our solution to settling the debate of Quality VS Quantity because let’s face it, some BMX news just isn’t quite as interesting as the others.

You can also subscribe to our Favorite’s Feed.

Oh and if you haven’t caught on yet, to keep things fun, our crew has been posting using Ninja Turtle aliases…

Defero Video Mag

Defero Video Mag (FocalPointBMX.com)

In Latin, Defero means community, and community is the perfect word to describe the scene that this new Australian BMX DVD series will showcase. Based out of Melbourne, Defero is headed up by Cooper Brownlee (FocalpointBMX) and Chris ‘Flagz’ Matthews (Peazant/B-Town) with the aim of producing quality, fun DVD’s that perfectly represent the Australian BMX community.

Make no mistake, this isn’t a replacement for the Focalpoint DVD’s – FP is doing great and will continue to build and progress. Defero is another outlet to bring more exposure to more riders out there.

The content will not be bound to any one riding style as we aim to feature a diverse crew of riders from across Australia. To achieve this, contributions and ideas are welcome, so feel free to email us!

Issue One of Defero will be released with the next Focalpoint DVD, giving you two totally different videos in the one package. Keep an eye out for the finished product some time in March 2009. For now, you can check out the promo for a taste of what is to come with Defero.
